Sport & Extra Curricular Clubs

Extra-Curricular Sports Clubs

Dear Parents and Carers We will be starting our extra-curricular clubs week beginning 28th September. We have decided to offer a sports club for each year group at KS2 and the children can enjoy a range of sports within the guidelines.

Please e-mail by Monday 21st September if your child is interested in attending an after-school club (not lunchtime clubs). Children will not be allowed to stay after school unless they have been accepted into their chosen club by the office. Please note that all activities are for specific year groups only and finishing times vary for each club. All clubs will start week beginning 28th September. If a club has to be cancelled you will be notified in advance.

Children will be expected to attend the club every week but if your child is unable to attend one week please let Mr Johnston know. Children are released through the main entrance near the office when the club is finished. If your child is allowed to go home without an adult collecting them please make sure the office is aware of this.

Everything we do at St Thomas’s is based on the following sporting values:

Determination - Keep going no matter what. Determination is about the journey you go on to push yourself and achieve your dreams. Have the mental strength and the self-discipline to overcome obstacles, commit to your goals and keep working every day to become the very best you can be. Don’t hold back!

Passion - Giving it 100 per cent, putting your heart and soul into whatever you are doing and never giving up. Care about what you do and the people around you, and approach each opportunity with enthusiasm and positivity.

Respect- Treating others politely and with understanding. Accepting life’s ‘ups and downs’ with grace. Respect every day, in everything you do and for everyone around you.

Honesty - With others and with yourself. Have the courage to do the right thing. Be truthful and promote fairness in every situation.

Self belief - You’ve got to believe to achieve. Have the self belief and confidence to succeed and reach your personal best.

Teamwork - Treat everyone equally, support each other and work together to have fun and achieve. Celebrate each other’s success. Be a good friend and a positive team player in school, sport and life.

These sporting values are also the School Games values, and we encourage children to incorporate these values into both their daily lives and their sporting performances.
