Global Citizenship - Our Town, Our World

Show The Love

As part of our work on global citizenship, the School Council did a fantastic job this week leading our 'Show the love' event in school. They have helped us all learn more about climate change and the simple steps we can all take to protect our beautiful earth from further damage.

We made green hearts to show what we love about the world and each of us made a simple promise to protect our environment - well done everyone!

Year 6 wrote to The Pope expressing their views and explaining their pledges. We got a reply from The Vatican.

Friday 18th October 2019

This week, our School Council did a fantastic job leading worship and teaching the whole school about World Food Day.

World Food Day is celebrated each year on the 16th of October.

It aims to:

  • teach everyone that there are people in the world don’t have enough food
  • help people think of ways to make sure everyone has enough food to eat
  • try to make sure there is no hunger in the world by 2030

We all need food to survive, but there are many people in the world who don’t have enough food to eat. World Food Day gives people ideas for how to stop this happening.

The theme for World Food Day 2019 is ZeroHunger.

Each class wrote a World Food Day prayer
